Wind generation in the Middle East is fiercely debated. Whilst we believe that horizontal-axis wind turbines do have their limitations in the region, our Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) solutions designed by City Windmills take a different approach. Designed with the end-user or micro-grid operators in mind, our range of VAWT solutions make use of the funneling effects of urban architecture to produce consistent generation outputs day and night.

Our VAWT solutions are available in three sizes to suit your needs and use innovative floating baffle technology to reduce drag. Magnetic, contactless generators are silent when running and ensure outputs even with wind speeds as low as 4.5mph. All of our range of City windmills come with a 5-year warranty and can be supplied in their raw material state or pre-finished for architectural applications.

CW500

Intended for small-scale residential use the CW500 from City Windmills is the smallest of the VAWT family. Measuring just over 1,300mm high with a diameter of 2,000mm the CW500 can produce over 450kwh per month at an average wind speed of 5m/s. Weighing just 55KG and virtually silent in operation the magnetic generator of the CW500 makes use of wind speeds as low as 2m/s. All of our windmills are designed in the UK with research partners in the US but fabricated locally in the UAE. Turbines can be supplied in their raw functional state or pre finished in a range of architectural coatings. Blades and floating baffle can also be custom finished to clients design carrying marketing or advertising material

CW1000

Intended for commercial applications use the CW1000 from City Windmills is a mid range VAWT designed for rooftops or off grid applications. Measuring 2,000mm high with a diameter of 2,500mm the CW1000 can produce over 900kwh per month at an average wind speed of 5m/s. Weighing just 90KG and virtually silent in operation the magnetic generator of the CW1000 makes use of wind speeds as low as 2m/s. All of our windmills are designed in the UK with research partners in the US but fabricated locally in the UAE. Turbines can be supplied in their raw functional state or pre finished in a range of architectural coatings. Blades and floating baffle can also be custom finished to clients design carrying marketing or advertising material.

CW2000

Weighing around 180KG and virtually silent in operation the magnetic generator of the CW200 makes use of wind speeds as low as 2m/s. All of our windmills are designed in the UK with research partners in the US but fabricated locally in the UAE. Turbines can be supplied in their raw functional state or pre finished in a range of architectural coatings.
